My darling Sobella Wear Girls! We hope that you are having a splendid beginning of December. We know that there’s a lot going on in your lives, no different than normal for us active girls, but even more because of the holidays. But while you are running around buying presents, visiting with family, and making sure all of your plans are in order, we are here to remind you of the importance in relaxation.
We all know how important it is to normally stay balanced and healthy throughout the day and weeks. During this season, it’s natural to be focused on things other than yourself, because the holidays are all about family and friends. But you cannot forget about keeping your body and mind loose and relaxed as well. It’s important as a dancer who has holiday recitals or competitions coming up in the new year, just as much as it is important for an active girl staying on track with her workouts and yoga routine. So we’ve put together some tips on how to break away from the buzz of the holidays and spend a little bit of time on your mind and body.
After you wake up in the morning and make your breakfast or brush your teeth, take 10 minutes to sit on your bedroom floor and do some stretching. Start with a minute of meditation to set a good intention for the day and continue to stretch your arms and legs for a few minutes afterwards. You’ll start the day with your muscles loose and your mind clear.
Track Your Steps
e and, if needed, going on a walk or doing a little bit of exercise to keep thosesteps up. This keeps you focused on reaching a goal for yourself and it makes sure you are getting your exercise in for the day. At the end of the day when you have 10,000+ steps you will feel so good about yourself. If you don’t have a FitBit or a Pedometer, try downloading an app like Steps Mania on your phone.
At Home Exercising
Speaking of exercise, check out the number of at-home exercises available on Youtube. This article —->http://greatist.com/move/best-free-workout-videos-youtube has tons to choose from like a Beyonce Full-Routine Dance, or a Full-Body 7 Minute Workout, and a Lucious Legs Workout. Take a few minutes and try one!
A great way to end the day is to shut off your phone, computer, or any technology and quiet your mind. Remember your morning intention? Did you reach that goal? Keep a journal of the things you accomplished today or what made you happy. Take some time to reflect and maybe even do some light night time stretching. This will ensure a good night’s sleep and ultimately you waking up in the morning feeling relaxed and ready to take on the day.
